Seems close to the thought process I went through before deciding for the 50mm :D

The filter and the 50mm seems like a good choice, especially after I've seen your Walnut Beach Pier post :)
The images are gorgeous!

Concerning the wide angle lens, I have a Sigma 10-20mm and although I use it quite often for landscapes, I think I could propably live without it although I have already a smaller frame with the APS-C sensor...

It's funny, for my last reply I looked up the price of my 50mm and hence found a good deal for another lens that I had my eye on for some time. The 24mm F2.8 pancake for just 95€ (refurbished). It's really small and perfect for travelling.
So thanks to you, a new lens is coming to me very soon, many thanks! ;)
