We'd been watching the weather closely all week. We knew it was going to be a wet one. ๐ง๏ธ
With my mate, Stace, in town we picked a parkrun that was new for her, somewhere pretty, that was also on Brad's P-Index list. (For the uninitiated, the P-Index is an unofficial parkrun challenge that focuses around you doing repeats of a certain number of parkruns). ๐๐โโ๏ธ๐โโ๏ธ
The weather stayed mostly dry for us ๐ It was drizzling throughout the parkrun briefing (which always makes me wish I was doing the briefing so I could do it at double speed!) but once we got running it was fine.
We ran well. I think know Stace is fitter than me at present so I let her push the envelope a little that morning as I felt like my body could handle it. While we finished the 5km in a time that was 3 1/2 minutes slower than my previous time there, we did get an overall parkrun PB for Stace. ๐
parkrun was, of course, followed by coffee โ and great conversations about Human Design, the Autonomic Nervous System and, of course, parkrun ๐
Skip ahead to Sunday morning and since I didn't sleep that well ๐ด I stayed in bed while Mr B did a long run without me. Later that day, after I drank a truckload of water and a massive green smoothie ๐ I took up Brad's suggestion and we did a short (ish) run/walk near home.
On one of the uphills where we were walking we saw this guy ๐ They seem to come out when there's a lot of rain.
There was more in my weekend of course, but a girl can't give away all her secrets ๐
