Its great to see so many of you moving over to Hive after the massive dramas unfolding in the last few weeks - were a dedicated community thats for sure! While some have completely migrated to Hive, powered down and never looked back, others (myself included) are ´double dipping´ - posting on both Steem and Hive. Obviously if I am doing it I dont (until writing this post anyway...) see anything wrong with it.
The many arguments I have heard for not double dipping is that Justin Sun deserted us and was all about the money so by leaving we are giving him the middle finger. This is very true - will be hard for Steem to be successful without its community - the one we have built over the last few years. If we stop posting now, the user base will dwindle, and the content on there will be rubbish, which will make new users skeptical at best, and hopefully they will find Hive!
Others havent lost complete hope in Steem, and thus are still there to supplement their earnings and to ´see how it pans out´. I have been in this camp, and have thought it was great I was basically getting twice the rewards! However, the longer I am on Hive the more I feel this is the new home for us now and I should be leaving Steemit for good.... There is still a tiny bit of hope for me that Steemit will somehow be successful - although it is dwindling every day - just check out the trending page now it is pretty trashy! However, even though Justin Sun destroyed the community at Steemit he is still a hype machine and might be able to resurrect Steemit. It will not be in its current form thats for sure, but it could still go on to be something quite valuable (very optimistic!).
Either way I have undelegated most of my SP, and am about to start powering down I will be keeping an eye on Steemit albeit in a smaller capacity. Maybe I am just abit sour and finding it hard to say goodbye to Steemit completely after spending over 2 years there.
What are your thoughts? Are you still posting and active on Steemit or have you deserted the place?
