Once a month or so we hear news about "Bitcoins being stolen". Understandably, some people are hesitant to invest in something that seems so unsafe.
But Bitcoins are only ever stolen from exchanges. Which is why you shouldn't leave them there. You can protect yourself from that with safe wallets, that give you your private keys.
