A week that became a long turmoil....
The second week of March last year, there was no power supply in the area due to a faulty transformer.
One of the nights while everyone was asleep, theives broke into the compound and stole three generator sets.
We only woke up to meet the gate ajar and the three generator sets gone.
It was a sorrowful day. While lamenting the loss, our the water supply was also exhausted.
We had to buy plenty three bags of satchet water to bath, cook and prepare kids for school.
In a private estate with everyone's compound fenced with tall, thick gates to ask for help is even more difficult.
After about two days of water management, the power supply was restored.
Everyone let out a loud shout "There is light o".
Make una pump water first...
We rushed to pump it up with great joy and possible relief.
Only to be utterly disappointed when the water pump was not bringing up water.
The technician was called who worked on it for more than 2 hours before saying to us "you can pump it up now"
With every forceful entry of water into the empty tank, it brought relief and excitement despite the chaos.
That was a long week that taught us to install cameras, reinforcement of generator house and gate house.
Having indoor water storage pots...
That incidence taught and prepared us to be pumped up for life surprises and survival.
🥂 Cheers.
