You see, fasting is easy until your mind begins to play tricks on you. Suddenly, you’re doing math: “If I lick the spoon, does that break the fast?” “If I taste the stew to see if it needs salt, does it count?” “What if I drink garri but don’t chew?” “what if I drink tea or something liquid”? At exactly 12:07pm, disaster struck. My neighbor brought in hot puff-puffs. Fresh, golden. Smelling like the bakery. I resisted and overcame it. I gazed at it... for too long. And I was just looking at my roommate munching this puff-puff like her life depended on it, even after she had breakfast that morning...

When it was time to package the foods and all, I didn't know the spirit that entered me, I just went and picked a plate, I dished out some food and sat down calmly to eat, like the way I sat down enh, you will know it's no normal, like something has entered me. You will think it was time to break the fast with the way I sat down calmly to eat, I didn't even pray. I just knew I was standing, the next minute I was sitting and the following second I was having an empty plate at hand...
