Recently a certain ferric maiden has been whispering in my ear, over and over again, "run to the hills!" Don't think that's ever been bad advice but it seems more apt every day. The mountains

Recently signed up for my first photography class. Come the last week of October I will be down in Williamsburg, Kentucky getting learnt how to be a photojournalist. Should be a good time, seems most of

It's that time of year again, when the teenagers come out to brawl and the adults occupy themselves with binge eating and drinking. The Kentucky State Fair I think they call it. Had us some unseasonably

Ground Control to Major Tom, you may commence your bomb run. B-29 with a P-51 coming up behind. Who doesn't love a little Good War nostalgia? FIFI here is a movie star, been on the big screen multiple

Ever get so high it takes your breath away? Rocky Mountain National Park is one of those places, if the scenery doesn't take your breath away the elevation sure will. Longs Peak, pictured above, is the

Life is strange. Not complaining, that's what keeps it interesting. Bunted on the covid curveball recently but all I got out of it was a lingering sense of vertigo. It's kind of like being a teenager

This beer flu must have been skunked, it don't taste right. All I got out of it was the chills and a complete lack of enthusiasm. The chills are gone and my energy seems to be coming back, so I'm calling

Every fall, the world's largest balloon festival goes down (or is it up?) in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Last year during our search for the American Dream we were able to stop by and take in a day's festivities

Lately there's been a good deal of noise around town about how "bad" the Highlands have gotten. Lots of breathless news stories about rising crime in the Highlands has got all the upper crust

Had to get away from all the plot twists this past weekend, headed down to the sprawling metropolis of Nepton, Kentucky for a bit of a shindig. There's a tobacco barn there that I'm fond of photographing

There's just something about the 'Accidental Brutalism' architecture of shopping malls that just screams competitive consumption and public spankings. Whatever it is, Jefferson Mall in southern Louisville

Of all the things millennials stand accused of killing, shopping malls are likely the least lamented. Did see Gen Z is supposedly trying to bring them back, or at least the media is convinced that's what

These last few weeks have been quite the wild ride here in these disunited states. Was going to rant and rave about all the goings on but there's already too many people doing that, will have to hold off

Sundays are always good days for shooting Speed. Plus the Speed is free on Sundays, so how can you say no to that? We weren't here just to shoot the Speed though, we were here to get obliterated.
