Life is funny sometimes. With the right sense of humor it's funny all the time. The pandemic was supposed to have ended long ago but covid only got around to rearing its ugly head here this week. Yesterday my partner woke up with the beer flu and it's been a party ever since.
That last may be a bit of an exaggeration. They were well and truly under the weather yesterday but it seems to have eased off a bit today thankfully. Now it's double or nothing time in the asymptomatic sweepstakes.
Realized earlier this week that it's Street Rod Nationals time over at the fairgrounds, was going to check out that little act of the divine comedy but with covid for company that looks doubtful.
Ain't what you would call upset, the weather keeps oscillating between heat and severe storm warnings so it wasn't going to be what I'd call a fun time this year anyways. When moon? Don't need a lambo, just a waterproof camera.
While we're playing the wait and see game it seemed appropriate to revisit last year's car show. Ended up finding a number of shots that I'm not sure how they were overlooked the first go round, which is what you're looking at.
Street Rod Nationals is its own unique scene, never know what'll be seen. The actual show is inside the fairgrounds but everybody posts up along the road outside it and watch as all the cars cruise back and forth.
Was cruising the interwebs procrastinating today and stumbled upon a new musician that I've taken a shine to, Jesse Welles. Was the cynical millennial folk rock that I didn't know I needed. Check out his Hells Wells album if you're at all inclined towards cynicism or identifying as a millennial.
What we have here is a failure to communicate selective enforcement. See, in Louisville drinking in public is against the law. Now a tourist can walk right past a cop with beer in hand and not get a bat of the eye but a younger, poorer Colonel got the shiny bracelets and the "Go directly to jail, do not pass go, do not collect $200" treatment for doing the same thing.
It's a funny world. Judging by the facial expressions, car shows are not enjoyed equally by everyone. Who doesn't love the roar of bored out big blocks and the smell of half burnt gasoline?
Don't tell @dandays but if we can get them on the blockchain, him and Mapbook may have some competition. Don't know if this blockchain can handle that... Anyways, it's just about time to get lost in dreamland, cough at y'all later.
