It's Friday and that means it's time for another #fridayfreewrite. I'd mentioned last week that I was going on an adventure and wouldn't be doing one this week but I'm presently riding shotgun and have a bit more time to write than I'd expected.
We're making a quick run to DC for the weekend, will probably end up spending almost as much time in the car as we do in the nation's capital. Google says it's a 9 hour drive but we all know how that goes.
It's a straight shot east on I-64 for the most part, we get to see horse country before driving through the Appalachian Mountains.
At least 169 more miles of this before the GPS starts telling us what to do again.
The March For Voting Rights is tomorrow, I'm curious to see how law enforcement handles it, especially in light of the treatment the 'Blue Lives Matter' crowd gave them on January 6th.
The last time I made this run was in 2016, driving through West Virginia then was depressing as hell, even to someone born just across the state line from there. We'll see if things have improved any in an hour or two.
The cats seemed a bit put out that they didn't get to go adventuring with us but Evander doesn't people well enough to go marching. They get to have a friend come visit them while we're gone to make up for it though. Do you travel with your pets or do they keep an eye on things while you're away?
Time for me to get ready to drive, I'll try and post more once we're in DC.
Anybody else going to be in DC or out adventuring this weekend?
