I had a similar experience like yours with the French language. We were forced to learn and we had aggressive French teachers who used corporal punishment just to force us learn. Language is easily learned when you are surrounded with people who speak it and in Ghana not many people even speak French so how on earth did they expected us to become fluent. Wrong system in place in our educational system that needs to be changed.
