And the same day, when the even was come, he saith unto them, Let us pass over unto the other side. And when they had sent away the multitude, they took him even as he was in the ship. And there were also with him other little ships. And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full. And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish? And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith? And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him? Mark 4:35-41
The story above is a true demonstration of faith and it is about how God wants us to put our faith into action. The disciples were so afraid for they didn't really know the real identity of Jesus.
They wondered about who he really was for such a demonstration of power has never been seen or witnessned in the history of man. Commanding the wind and the sea to obey you is something which is beyond an ordinary man and it is only a God who can do that.
This is what faith can do, the bible says if only we have faith as little as a mustard seed will command mountains and they will obey us, be moved and be cast into the sea.
Faith can do the impossible and if we keep feeding our spirit with the word of God we will be able to do exploits with that measure of faith we have.
Our faith may be small but has to be nurtured constantly with the right nutrients which is the word of God, for faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God.
You will not just be working with a small faith but a strong faith If all you do is hearing the word and feeding your spirit all the time.
If Jesus did it so can we.
That same power that he used to heal the sick, raise the dead, opened blind eyes, set the captives free is still here with us today.
We can also perform those miracles and do the impossible if we focus on building a strong faith.
