Photography and Rugby go together well. Always action packed there is a lot to take in. Hard to capture sometimes, but great fun nonetheless. These couple of photos were taken at a Tournament in Fiji. Germany was invited to participate in this colourful and amazing rugby tournament. It sounds like the perfect location and Fiji really is.
The preparation for the tournament was brutally intense as the tropical heat gets to you quickly. The toughest part was most probably training on the dunes of Sigatoka. The Sigatoka Sand Dunes National Park is known for it´s steep dunes.
After grueling sessions, the team was ready for the tournament.
It ranks as probably the best tournament outside of the professional circuit due to the nature of standard played across Fiji. They are rugby mad. And it showed.

The most amazing part was the support of the whole city. The stadium was packed. And everybody seemed to have come to make it a great party. There was singing, great food, amazing colours and all teams had support.
The pace of the games were frenatic. Watching Fijians play Rugby is like a fish playing in water. It seems genetically encoded... they are crazy good.
At the end, we didn´t win the competition but a lot of respect and amazing memories.
Hope to be back, Fiji. Thanks for the memories
