How does your crush make you feel? I didn't even know that even in adulthood, crushes have a way of making you feel like a teenager.
Why are crushes so overpowering? Man. They make you lose your head for a few seconds that feel like death. Man. You know that feeling when you miss out a step and you nearly fall down? Or when you touch your pocket and you can't feel your phone, and you just got off a bus. Ever tried to touch a live electric wire and you were mildly shocked? There is that shivering experience, that lingers. That is how crushes make us men feel.
If you are extremely shy like me, it is even worse. Suddenly you discover that you stutter. Suddenly, you have a running nose, and you feel itchy everywhere.
Worse if the crush is the confident type that looks you in the eye, and she was raised by a bad mother, so she looks you in the eye and derives the pleasure of the pain and discomfort she makes you have.
Women can be evil. Especially, if they know, you got a thing for them. Man, they can ignore you like a dirty rag, hanging on a wall at the back of the balcony.
In fact, to most of our crushes, we are invisible.
Back in elementary school, there was a girl, who used to drive me mad. I was helpless in her presence. Facially, she was so beautiful and having partially been raised in a town, she was super fluent, and had this angelic voice that used to send to Jupiter. Man. It took me four years before we could even say hi to each other. The tension always was so palpable, I died of a million heart attacks just standing next to her. Whereas beautiful and tender, she wore this quarrelsome face. Even teachers yearned for her. You know those bad teachers who are into carnal knowledge with their students.
But everyone knew she was mine. The whole neighborhood knew. The whole school. The church. Everyone. Not sure if she knew that she ran 69 per cent of my RAM. If I failed in my exams, she is responsible. That girl. Man. God bless her wherever she is.
