Cockscombs in the garden

Every year we planted cockscombs in our garden.

When you hear about cockscombs you usually think of what is on top of a roosters head.

I have to admit sometimes the chickens and roosters did get in the garden but we never planted those in the garden. We planted a flower in our garden called cockscombs. It was my Fathers favorite flower, My Mother made sure we planted them for him.

Some people might know them as wool flowers and some people think some of them looks like a brain.

They do come in different colors and shapes and are quite pretty to look at. And since I share my fathers allergy to flowers they are one flower who does not give me a allergic reaction. It is probably because it has no scent.

All the colors are pretty but both my dad and I always liked the red flowers the best.
