In India, whenever there is discussion about the finances, mostly men take part in it and they are the ones who handles everything. I don't know about other countries but mostly it is there in India. One of the reason is also this that the women in jobs are less and they are mostly confined to their homes. For them running a household is enough and doesn't want to take part in the finances.

But the problem is not discussing the finances at home have an adverse effect. For example, one of my collegue father had great money and he used to give it for loans. And he was the one who used to write about it which he can only understand. In Corona, he was died and he didn't got time to tell his family members about all the loans he has given. So now the family members are not getting the money back because there is no proof and in villages the money lending mostly happens on trust. This way my colleague family lost lakhs of money.
If the discussion about the finances would had happen at the home, this might not had happen. I try to discuss all my finances with my father as well as my wife. I had made her aware about the Term Insurance, Medical Insurance, My bank accounts and other things. I know getting a suggestion might not be appropriate but keeping them as partners means a lot of them as well as increases their knowledge.
Sometimes as a human, you can make a mistake and keeping them in loop can save you from mistake too. Like I was thinking of buying a fridge from the last 3 months, but my wife was delaying it till festivals because that time we might get good deals. So yeah, keeping them loop is much more important than keeping all by yourself. Women who earns can also invest by themselves, at that time it will be a collective effort to keep that investment much more aligned towards the goals.
