The future timeline of Holozing is probably one of the most interesting parts of its lore because it opens the door to a world where humans already know what it means to lose the creatures that once shared their world.

But there is one question that could make this timeline even more interesting. What if the creatures were never truly gone?

In the previous article, I talked about the strange shadows beginning to appear in this future world. At first, they could simply be glitches, forgotten data or remnants of an old system.

But if we look at the story from another perspective, these shadows could be the first clue that something much bigger is happening behind the scenes.

This is where Fiona could become an important character. Imagine working for an organization whose entire purpose is to preserve the memory of creatures that humanity believes have disappeared.

Every day, Fiona works with holograms, simulations and archived information. She has been told that these creatures no longer exist in the physical world and that technology is the only way people can experience them again.

At first, there would be no reason for her to question that story. Everything around her would seem to confirm what she has been taught.

Until she starts noticing things that do not make sense.

A holographic creature reacts to something that was never programmed into it. An old file contains information that should have been deleted decades ago.

A location appears repeatedly in different simulations, even though nobody in the Institution seems willing to explain what it is.

This is the kind of mystery that could make the future timeline much more interesting.

Because suddenly, the holograms would not simply be digital recreations of extinct creatures. They could be pieces of a much larger puzzle.

Perhaps the Institution knows more than it admits.

Maybe some creatures survived the events that caused their disappearance. They could have been forced into isolated regions of the world, far away from humans.

Or perhaps something happened that made them impossible to find, while the Institution decided that keeping the truth hidden was easier than revealing it.

There is also an interesting possibility here for Holozing as a game.

What if discovering these secrets became part of the player's progression? Instead of simply unlocking stronger creatures, players could discover fragments of the old world.

Abandoned laboratories, mysterious locations and hidden records could slowly reveal what happened to the creatures while players are already exploring the future.

That would give the world a reason to exist beyond battles and collecting creatures.

And then comes the biggest reveal.

Imagine Fiona finding evidence that one creature is still alive. Not a hologram, not a simulation and not another digital reconstruction.

A real creature.

That single discovery could completely change the direction of the story.

Fiona would have to decide whether to tell the Institution what she found or protect the creature from the same organization that has spent years studying its species.

This is where I think the future timeline could become particularly interesting for Holozing.

The story would no longer simply be about humans trying to recreate creatures that disappeared. It would become a mystery about what really happened to them.

And maybe the shadows we are seeing are not remnants of the past.

Maybe they are proof that something is still out there.
