Today, I want to launch a new section of my Holozing blog by discussing legendary creatures—or stories about the interactions between humans and these creatures—to provide a bit more context on the relationship between the two species and to tie in with the fan-lore stories I’ve been sharing.

Today, the spotlight is on the cosmic entity; reading a few comics inspired me to create this description.

Every world has its oldest legend. Some speak of dragons, others of forgotten gods or celestial beings that shaped reality before history began.

In the universe of Holozing, however, there is a tale so ancient that even the Guardians refuse to acknowledge it. It tells the story of a mysterious cosmic entity known only as Aetherion, a being believed to have existed long before the first Zing ever walked the land.

Unlike any creature known today, Aetherion is not considered a Guardian, a legendary Zing, or even a living organism in the traditional sense.

Ancient myths describe it as a primordial consciousness born alongside the universe itself, existing beyond space, time, and the laws that govern reality. No one knows what its true form looks like because every person who claims to have seen it tells a completely different story.

Some describe a dragon woven from galaxies, its wings stretching across the stars. Others speak of a colossal figure cloaked in cosmic light, surrounded by thousands of glowing eyes that resemble distant constellations. A few insist that Aetherion has no physical form at all, appearing instead as an endless sea of shimmering energy that seems almost impossible for the human mind to comprehend.

What makes the legend even more fascinating is that almost nobody has ever encountered it. According to forgotten writings passed down by the oldest Healers, Aetherion never reveals itself to explorers or powerful trainers searching for glory.

Instead, it only appears during the final moments between life and death. Survivors who narrowly escaped fatal encounters have shared remarkably similar stories throughout the centuries.

They speak of awakening in a silent universe where time stands still, only to find an enormous celestial presence watching them from the darkness. The entity never speaks, never attacks, and never offers explanations.

It simply observes before returning them to the world of the living. Most dismiss these accounts as hallucinations caused by trauma, yet the striking similarities between stories separated by generations continue to fuel the mystery.

The oldest myths claim that Aetherion is not merely an observer but the true origin of every creature that inhabits Holozing. Before oceans, forests, mountains, or civilizations existed, there was only an empty universe and Aetherion drifting through the endless void. Unable to experience loneliness forever, the cosmic being began to dream.

Those dreams became reality itself. Every emotion it experienced transformed into energy, and every thought took physical form. Courage gave birth to Fire Zings, serenity created Water Zings, curiosity sparked Electric creatures, while compassion and hope became the first Nature Zings.

According to the legend, every species that exists today carries a tiny fragment of Aetherion's endless imagination within its soul.

This would explain why every Zing possesses such unique personalities and elemental powers. Rather than evolving naturally, they are said to be echoes of the same cosmic consciousness that continues dreaming somewhere beyond the known universe.

Even the legendary Guardians, despite their incredible strength, would simply be powerful manifestations born from the same source. In this interpretation, no creature in Holozing truly stands above Aetherion because every living being owes its existence to its imagination.

Despite being considered the most powerful entity ever conceived, Aetherion is never described as a conqueror or destroyer. It has no interest in ruling kingdoms or fighting battles. Its existence transcends conflict entirely.

The legends suggest that if the cosmic being ever fully awakened from its eternal dream, reality itself would begin to unravel. Entire ecosystems could disappear, forgotten species could return, and completely new Zings could emerge in an instant.

The world would not end through destruction but through recreation, as if the universe itself were being imagined all over again.

Perhaps that is why so little is known about Aetherion. Maybe it was never meant to be discovered. Perhaps the ancient civilizations deliberately erased every record of its existence, fearing that such knowledge could alter the balance of the world.

Or maybe the truth is even stranger—that Aetherion continues watching silently from beyond the stars, shaping the future of Holozing with every new dream while remaining forever hidden from those who seek it.

Whether the legend is real or simply one of the oldest myths ever told, one thing is certain: if there truly is a being responsible for the birth of every Zing, no creature in Holozing could ever rival the infinite power of Aetherion, the forgotten dreamer of the cosmos.
