If the previous article looked at the mistakes Holozing should avoid by learning from Axie Infinity, now it is worth looking at the other side of the story: what could Holozing actually take from Axie and adapt to its own universe?

The idea would not be to copy Axie Infinity. Holozing has its own identity, creatures, healers, professions and game world. However, Axie has already experimented with several systems that could give Holozing some interesting ideas for its future development

One of the most obvious examples is breeding. Axie Infinity built an important part of its ecosystem around the possibility of creating new Axies from existing ones. Breeding gave players another reason to collect, trade and invest in their creatures, while also creating a continuous demand for certain resources

Holozing could introduce something similar, but with its own twist. Instead of simply breeding two creatures to create another one, players could potentially combine compatible creatures to unlock new forms, traits or variations. Some combinations could even have a small chance of producing rare characteristics.

This could make collecting creatures much more interesting because players would not simply be looking for the strongest one. They could also be searching for unusual combinations and experimenting with different possibilities

Another lesson comes from the way Axie connected its game economy with its gameplay. Resources should have reasons to be spent, not just accumulated. Holozing could use this concept for evolution, crafting, equipment, professions and special events

Imagine needing specific materials to evolve a creature or unlock a special ability. Suddenly, resources earned while playing would have a clear purpose. This could also create more activity in the marketplace because players would have different reasons to buy, sell and exchange items

Staking and long-term participation are another area where Holozing could experiment. Axie has used its ecosystem token for staking and other activities, while Holozing already has ZING and a connection with the wider Hive ecosystem.

Holozing could potentially connect long-term participation with in-game benefits. For example, players who lock their tokens for a certain period could receive access to special events, cosmetic rewards, early features or other non-pay-to-win benefits

Competitive gameplay is another idea worth considering. Axie has demonstrated how tournaments and competitive seasons can give players an additional reason to continue improving their assets.

Holozing could create seasonal competitions involving creatures and healers, with rankings, cosmetic rewards, titles and special achievements. The important part would be making these rewards feel meaningful without turning every aspect of the game into a financial competition.

There is also something bigger that Holozing could learn from Axie: creatures need to have multiple uses.

A creature should not exist only for one type of battle. Holozing could allow the same creature to participate in PvE, PvP, expeditions, professions, resource gathering or special events. This would make each creature feel more like a real part of the game world rather than simply another collectible.

The biggest lesson, however, is probably about creating reasons to keep playing. A game economy cannot depend forever on players buying and selling the same assets. New mechanics, activities and utilities have to appear over time

Holozing has the opportunity to take some of the ideas that worked in Axie Infinity, learn from the problems that appeared along the way and rebuild those concepts around its own universe.

That could ultimately be much more interesting than simply trying to become another Axie Infinity. Holozing can take the lessons, leave behind the mistakes and create its own version of what a creature-based Web3 game can become.
