There's something charming about retro gaming, I've always been fascinated by the roadmap of the industry and how we went from games that barely outweigh the weight of an empty Windows folder to having ultra-realistic graphics on an entire SSD, certainly Nintendo is the one that comes to mind when I think of periods of decades like the 80s and 90s, so some time ago I downloaded a NES emulator to play some of the classics they released back then, nothing too complex, games that can be played in one sitting if you're on the phone, yet with so much history behind them.

The NES is one of those points in time that we need to understand the impact of video games today, in the times when the console came out in Japan the video game industry had lived some hard times and Nintendo took care to completely revitalize the industry, imparting a standard of quality that can be clearly seen in their games, a vast majority created from the same company and having very clear priorities, entertain the consumer with a well made product.

Duck Hunt is in that category, it is a game that today and without being too much commented is one of the most iconic of its console for also carrying a peripheral, the ROM can be played today with a simple mouse and allows to relive the experience again, it is a simple game, simpler than I thought but still it is still fun, although I wonder if with the Nintendo gun was something more entertaining than just clicking on the screen, the difficulty is not too high, I guess because of the limitations of the gun itself that brought the game as a peripheral.

Punch-Out is one of the IP less exploited by Nintendo, every few decades they take some game to the height, but here you see all the magic of a game with a lot of charisma in addition to super fun to play, we have to box against some opponents clearly bigger than us so read the moves, dodge and hit just when we have an opening is ideal to win the match.

Of course it can't be an afternoon of gaming without some problems with the controls, mostly the keys are a bit awkward in this game, I'd like to be able to control some alternative control but this is what I have.

Dodge the attacks at the right time is increasing in difficulty with the passage of the fighters, we will have 3 rounds to resist the blows or give them to knock out our opponents, it is a task that requires us to be attentive and in general this game is one of puzzles with boxing involved, even so it is devilishly fun especially in the advanced levels.

The last game I'm going to bring you today is Excited Bike.

Curiously this and other games are part of a specific sector of NES games, sports games that at that time if any studio made a game about sports surely was going to be a success, that same thing happened with Excited Bike although for those of us who live today know that the franchise is more than disappeared at that time these sports games, and Excited Bike in particular were a success everywhere.

This is also a game that bets for the simple, we will have to run in a series of circuits with our motorcycle and these tracks are full of obstacles, jumps and many variants that we will have to overcome to be on the podium, it is a game that at first costs to understand the controls and how the different ramps work but once you grasp it becomes entrenenido, do not expect too big a challenge once you understand how it all works.

Hay algo de encanto en los juegos retro, siempre me ha fascinado como es la hoja de ruta de la industria y de como pasamos a juegos que dificilmente superan el peso de una carpeta de Windows vacia a tener graficos ultrarealistas en un SSD entero, ciertamente Nintendo es la que se me viene a la mente cuando pienso en los periodos de decadas como los 80s y 90s, asi que desde hace algun tiempo descargue un emulador de la NES para jugar algunos de los clasicos que sacaron por aquel entonces, nada demasiado complejo, juegos que perfectamente pueden pasarse de una sentada si estas en el telefono, aun asi con tanra historia detras.

La NES es uno de esos puntos en el tiempo que necesitamos para entender el impacto de los videojuegos hoy en dia, en los tiempos en los que la consola salio en Japon la industria del videojuego habia vivivo algunos momentos duros y Nintendo se encargo de revitalizar por completo a la industria, impartiendo un estandar de calidad que se puede ver claramente en sus juegos, una amplia mayoria creados desde la misma empresa y teniendo las priodidades muy claras, divertir al consumidor con un producto bien hecho.

Duck Hunt esta en esa categoria, es un juego que a dia de hoy y sin ser demasiado comentado es uno de los mas iconicos de su consola por tambien llevar un periferico, la ROM se puede jugar hoy en dia con un mouse sencillo y permite revivir la experiencia nuevamente, es un juego simple, mas simple de lo que pensaba pero aun asi no deja de ser divertido, aunque me pregunto si con la pistola de Nintendo fuese algo mas entretenido que solo dar clicks a la pantalla, la dificultad tampoco es demasiado elevada, supongo que por las limitaciones de la propia pistola que traia el juego como periferico.

El segundo juego que iba a probar es de lejos uno de mis favoritos, Punch-Out es una de las IP menos aprovechadas por Nintendo, cada cierta cantidad de decadas le sacan algun juego a la altura, pero aca se ve toda la magia de un juego con mucho carisma ademas de super divertido de jugar, tenemos que boxear contra algunos oponentes claramente mas grandes que nosotros asi que leer los movimientos, esquivar y dar justo cuando tenemos una abertura es ideal para ganar el match.

Por supuesto no puede ser una tarde de juegos sin algunos problemas con los controles, mas que nada las teclas son algo incomodas en este juego, me gustaria poder controlar algun control alternativo pero esto es lo que tengo.

Esquivar los atacas en el momento adecuado va aumentando de dificultad con el paso de los luchadores, tendremos 3 rounds para poder resistir a los golpes o darlos para dejar K.O a nuestros adversarios, es una tarea que requiere que estemos atentos y en general este juego es uno de puzles con boxeo involucrado, aun asi es endiabladamente divertido en especial en los niveles avanzados.

El ultimo juego que les voy a traer hoy es Excited Bike.

Curiosamente este y otros juegos forman parte de un sector en especifico de juegos de la NES, los deportivos que en ese entonces si algun estudio hacia un juego sobre deportes seguramente iba a ser un exito, eso mismo paso con Excited Bike aunque para los que vivimos hoy sepamos que la franquicia esta mas ue desaparecida en ese entonces estos juegos de deportes, y Excited Bike en particular fueron un exito por todos lados.

Este tambien es un juego que apuesta por lo simple, tendremos que correr en una serie de circuitos con nuestra motocicleta y estas pistas estan llenas de obstaculos, saltos y muchas variantes que tendremos que superar para estar en el podio, es un juego que al principio cuesta entender los controles y como funcionan las diferentes rampas pero una vez lo captas se vuelve entrenenido, no esperen un reto demasiado grande una vez entiendan como funciona todo.
