Christmas Tree Walk

Getting a Christmas Tree has been something that we do on a specific day every year, so long that I don't remember a time when we didn't do it. When I was really little even though my parents struggled with money, one of the things they made sure to do was get a Christmas tree! It only makes sense to continue that tradition on forever with my wife and son, so that's what we do!

The sad thing about this particular tree farm is that it's closing down permanently. That is how things go sometimes, where a business that's been around for a really long time has people that just get old and they have to pass it on or sell it. This one sadly decided to sell it but oh well.

We've been going to this one for a number of years now, and we've enjoyed it. My wife particularly enjoys it because they shake the tree off so that it gets rid of the spiders and critters that are lurking in the trees otherwise lol. I know that with the farm being closed now, she is going to be very particular in where we get our trees next and we will have to find another farm somewhere else. This farm is interesting because it's an odd shape, where it extends out in a few different directions instead of being just a big square or something, it is going to the left and right quite a bit. I was surprised when I first saw it, because of where it's situated I thought it would be pretty small but it's quite sizable! I love the gently rolling hills, makes for a really nice little stroll around to find a tree that you like.

There are all kinds of hills but in addition to the Christmas trees they grow, cut and sell they have these freaking enormous pine trees in the middle! That part is really cool because they are the pine trees that are just tall as shit, with no lower branches. I suspect that they trim them which is a good thing, as it keeps the trees on the healthier side and less people trying to grab onto the branches and climb them. We did see one giant ass one that got knocked down which was sad but that's how things go with these big old trees.

I was loving the look of the morning light that was shining through the trees. It felt more like the golden hour in the evening rather than the morning! It was refreshing for sure, it's always a good thing to get outside in the early morning so that you can catch those sun rays and get some vitamin D, fresh air and exercise looking for the tree you'd like.

Given that this was the last year of the farm, I was a little bit upset to find our tree in the first 10 minutes that we were there lol. I was hoping for an extended search around the property, have a few potential trees and land on one that was great but in the back corner tucked away. We found it almost immediately and it is definitely a beautiful tree! I guess I was a little sad to get it so quickly hahaha. That's how it goes with the trees sometimes though, you walk around for quite a while and eventually find the right one or you find the right one immediately and know that's the one you want to go with. Ours was the latter for sure!

It was a wonderful time walking amongst the trees, small and large, to have a few hours to spend with my family outside. The beautiful pictures and scenery certainly helps!
