I know communism and socialism have some bad connotations in good old 'Merica but you guys have no idea what those things are really about. Here in Eastern Europe we have a more lighthearted approach to this topic ( in the countries that there is actual freedom of speech of course, not talking about countries like Belarus for example ), because those words don't represent a fictional bogyman, instead they are part of our history, for better of worse. And if you can't have a few lols at the expense of your own messed up past, then you are bound to repeat the same mistakes.
Since Hive promotes itself as a community driven blockchain I think we should give more rewards and some cool medals to those that work hard to promote this blockchain. We are suffering from flying under most crypto enthusiast's radars and we could use some more exposure. I'm not talking about spamming twitter with links to Hive, I'm referring to talking to normal individuals on other platforms and convincing them to give the platform a try. Also we need more incentives for people to put in the effort so that word of our little piece of the cryptosphere gets out, like referral links and things of that nature. For example if the people you invited are still active after x amount of time you receive an upvote from the "onboarding" account ( I don't think such a thing exists but it would be cool if it did). Of course this system should be at least abuse resistant if not abuse proof, because people will be people.
I've noticed the ecency front end has a referral link but I don't know what it does to be honest, and I haven't seen anybody talk about it which is kind of a shame. I hope going forward we can find more ways to help incentivize the proletariat to promote our beautiful crypto collective :P
