Confessions of a Black Card Warrior: My Planet Fitness Chronicles 💪🍕

Another day, another glorious trip to the Judgement Free Zone™, where I show up ready to become a Greek god and leave two hours later smelling like a locker room candle that lost a fight.

The Warm-Up Delusion

I start every session the same way: striding onto the treadmill with the quiet confidence of a man who is “just easing in.” Ten minutes later I’m gripping the handrails like I’m being reeled in from the ocean, silently negotiating with my own thighs. The display says I’ve burned 87 calories. The pizza bagel I had earlier says otherwise.

Weightlifting, or “Interpretive Grunting”

Next stop, the weight floor, where I engage in a sacred ritual known as “pretending I know what I’m doing.” I load up the machine, adjust the pin to a number that won’t embarrass me, and proceed to make sounds previously only heard in nature documentaries. Somewhere nearby, White Shirt is effortlessly repping triple what I’m doing while checking his phone. I respect the craft.

Yoga: Where Flexibility Goes to Die

Then it’s over to the mat for some “yoga,” which is really just me discovering new places my body refuses to bend. Downward dog becomes downward sigh. I hold each pose with the grace of a folding lawn chair, but my inner High Priestess insists this is deeply spiritual. It is. The spirit in question is regret.

The Body Angel Booth: My Reward

Finally, the crown jewel of the whole operation: the Body Angel red light therapy booth. I climb in feeling like a rotisserie chicken achieving enlightenment. Ten minutes of glowing warmth later, I emerge convinced I’ve reversed aging by at least a week. Black Card privileges, baby.

Final Tally

Steps logged, ego mildly bruised, glutes filing a formal complaint. Another successful workout in the books, chronicled here for posterity and for anyone who needs proof that showing up sweaty and slightly dramatic still counts as self-care.

See you at the squat rack, may the gains be ever in our favor. 🏋️‍♂️✨
