I’m thankful for my abundance today.
Last week I found out that my new employer, the Denny’s in Aberdeen, Wash., was complying with our governor’s order for bars and restaurants to close down to slow the spread of coronavirus. I had only worked there for four weeks … and already I’m on vacation.
Because I’m laid off as a result of the virus, it means I qualify for unemployment. Which means I get to stay home and work on my blog and still get paid.
Not a bad deal, really.
And today I read a report on NPR that says the new stimulus package that Congress is likely to pass as a response to the virus will give me a $1,200 one-time check, plus the possibility of an extra $600 weekly for unemployment.
It’s like people are just throwing money at me right now!
So I am thankful. And excited, because I’m probably going to come out ahead in the whole deal, and hopefully set enough aside to invest in the blockchain (both versions), as well us upgrade to a new camera so I can move forward with my photography.
It would be easy for me to feel guilty about my financial boon, especially if I think about the people dying from this thing, and those who will experience financial loss and hardship in it. I’m not going to do it though.
We live in a vibrational reality, and feeling guilty or undeserving seems like a surefire way to push this abundance away, or muck it up somehow. Far better to practice gratitude.
So today I am thankful for my abundance. I choose to breathe and receive and say thanks and relish and love.
It’s what the world needs now (like the song says). Thankfulness and love, felt in expanding moments, and then practices and actions springing from that vibe in all of us.
We got this.
