I enjoyed this, though I can't see how Julia ended up finding him. Perhaps it is enough for our story that fate brought her back. I found myself thinking that his daughter was a doctor or a nurse at the hospital. I think that would be plausible. ... I also liked that you made his novel a success, that even though he regretted his path, he wasn't a complete failure.
