I'm sure everyone at some point in our lives has made some kind of promise, either with ourselves or with others. It is very likely that many of these promises have not been fulfilled, it is more ... we may have forgotten that we made them. Especially when we were children and we promised to behave ourselves or to eat all the vegetables next time.
Thinking about this, today we celebrated my mother's birthday and when we were standing side by side in the church I thought about what my life was like before, when she was not with me living God in the way that we live today and I did not have so much gratitude and emotion in my heart; God listened to my persistent prayer for seven years so that she would be in that place next to me on her birthday.
It impresses me as it is God, when one least expects Him He arrives with the surprise factor to mess everything up and show us that he never stopped listening to us, that although it could have been delayed, this wait was precisely so that when what we wanted we would enjoy it even more , as happened to me with the conversion of my mother. That moment is never forgotten, because it produces an immense joy that can not be verbalized, it must be like giving birth to a mother who, for nine months, expects to know her baby, emotion overwhelms, there are no words, only feelings.
I am fully sure that if you are reading this, it is because you are someone who believes in God's promises, I am not going to imply that God is someone who keeps His promises, or that you have patience in waiting for them to be fulfilled ... I want to invite you that when the promise is fulfilled in your life YOU ENJOY IT. Do not think about the next goal you want to reach, or start praying for the request that occupies a large place in your heart, do it too, but take time to enjoy the gift you received, to what God is granting you after of so much time, so much prayer and so much waiting.
Many times we are VERY grateful of God, but we are little "enjoying" or "enjoying" what He gives us, when the dream comes to our life we rejoice for a moment, but then everything returns to normal and you peel your knees crying out for the next blessing. Jesus was someone who always enjoyed the promises of His Father, and at all times this enjoyment persisted, still nailed to a tree.
When you enjoy the fulfilled promises of God, God enjoys fulfilling His promises with you.
