It is believed to be the largest transfer of wealth so far in the crypto world. Coinbase transferred over $5 billion in crypto currencies into cold storage. This is important for two reasons. The size of the transfer challenges the idea that crypto is dead. Secondly, it shows the big money crowd is playing the long game. They took 5 billion dollars in crypto off the playing field. You do not put funds in cold storage if you are intent on trading. This is a hold strategy. In the world economy, 5 billion is a drop in the bucket. The world economy is more than 8,000 years old. Crypto is barely 10 years old. While 2018 was hell to get through for crypto enthusiasts (me included), it is moves like this that tell me there is a bright future in the crypto relm. HODL everybody.
