During the weekend luck and good vibes got connected to give me the most beautiful experiences before closing the year. I had the opportunity to participate in a literary event called Patria Chica, held in the town of Baire, belonging to Santiago de Cuba.
I give this little preamble so that I can put you in context. One thing I want to highlight is that we never lacked for coffee there. And the experience that I want to tell you about happened precisely on Saturday, around eleven in the morning.
After a long walk we visited an important historical monument and right there we were reading poetry, always accompanied by the trova. A neighbor of the village who knew the organizers of the event, touched, asked us to come to her house when we were done.
And so we did. Confused by the request, great was our surprise to see that she was waiting for us with a thermos of almost a liter of coffee. Our eyes immediately flashed and we all attacked the small cups that were offered to us.
The most surprising thing was what happened next. Encouraged by the drink, a conversation began that did not end until the coffee itself had run out. It's hard for me to explain it, but it's like it allows us to avoid any kind of inhibition, and I think from that moment on we all felt more connected than ever.
The funny part is that all of us who were there are writers in one way or another. Coincidentally, we are all coffee fans. So, I don't know if writing and coffee are directly related, but I can assure you that any moment that revolves around coffee is more enjoyable.

Tras una larga caminata visitamos un importante monumento histórico y justo allí estuvimos leyendo poesía, acompañados siempre de la trova. Una vecina del poblado que conocía a los organizadores del evento, conmovida, nos pidió que cuando termináramos llegáramos hasta su casa.
Y así lo hicimos. Confundidos por la petición, grande fue nuestra sorpresa al ver que ella nos esperaba con un termo de casi un litro de café. Nuestros ojos brillaron inmediatamente y todos atacamos las pequeñas tazas que se nos ofrecían.
Lo más sorprendente fue lo que sucedió a continuación. Animados por la bebida, comenzó una conversación que no terminó sino hasta que el propio café se hubo acabado. Me cuesta explicarlo, pero es como si nos permitiera evitar cualquier tipo de inhibición, y creo que a partir de ese momento todos nos sentimos más conectados que nunca.
La parte graciosa es que todos los que estábamos allí somos escritores de alguna u otra forma. Coincidentemente, todos somos fanáticos del café. Entonces, no sé si la escritura y el café estén directamente relacionados, pero sí puedo asegurar que cualquier instante que gire en torno al café se disfruta más.
