My Introductory Post: From Stress to the Calabozo Trail—A Story of Transformation
Hello, Hive friends! It’s a pleasure to introduce myself to the @fulldeporte community. My name is Claudia, and I’m an economist. I wanted to share with you a very personal journey of change and discovery through exercise.
A while back, my life was defined by an extremely demanding job. The stress was constant, and physically, I was very thin. That buildup of tension, combined with the immense pain of losing my mom, led me to make a decision that would change the course of my life: I started going to the gym to take my mind off things.
My life changed completely. Facing that difficult chapter of my life wasn’t easy, especially since I was staying at my mom’s house, surrounded by memories. It was in 2022 that this major change began. Over time, I felt the need to improve my endurance, and that’s how I started training to run.
Today I want to tell you about my most recent race, an event that marked a milestone on my journey as a runner.
The Calabozo Experience: April 19, 2026
This race was a completely different experience. It was the first time we competed outside the state. The destination was Calabozo, a place with breathtaking scenery. We went with some training partners who were also running outside their usual area for the first time.
The atmosphere was electrifying. We arrived at the starting line, excited and ready for the challenge. As a memento, I captured this image of the iconic “I ❤️ Calabozo” sign with the sunset in the background, symbolizing the start of this adventure.

The course was demanding - and not just because of the distance! The breeze along the route was a major factor, due to our proximity to the Calabozo Dam. Feeling the headwind as we ran alongside the water added a special touch of difficulty and beauty to the event.
I managed to capture a short clip from the car as we headed to the area, where you can see the vastness of the dam and the breeze that would await us on the route.

Despite the physical demands, we enjoyed every kilometer. That was our true goal: to run and enjoy this new experience together. The camaraderie and sense of personal achievement were felt with every step.
When we crossed the finish line, the joy was immense. We posed for photos with our medals, celebrating not only the completion of the race but also the journey we’d taken to get there. Here’s the whole group:

Here I am with one of my teammates, ready for the official souvenir photo:

I also wanted to capture my own personal memory of this achievement. I posed in front of the official event backdrop with my medal:

And of course, we couldn’t miss out on a group selfie to immortalize the moment:

Even before the race, the excitement was palpable. We took this photo before the start, ready for the challenge:
A Very Special Memory
As I mentioned at the beginning, this personal transformation has deep roots. This post wouldn’t be complete without sharing why I set out on this journey. The following two photos are incredibly special to me.
They were taken by my sister Carlota Ruiz—who has her own channel here on Hive as @arribaeltelon—using her Redmi 9t. These images capture a moment of intimacy and family support just one day after saying our final goodbyes to my mom.
The first is with my husband, a cornerstone in my life:

The second is with my sister Karla and my dad, Simón Flores:

This story is about so much more than kilometers and medals. It’s a story of healing, of finding strength in adversity, and of choosing movement as a way of life. Sports changed me and saved me.
Thank you for reading my story. I look forward to sharing many more adventures and achievements with all of you on @fulldeporte!

Me llamo Claudia y soy economista.
