New York Assembly Member Pam Harris had a scheme to collect free rental intended for hurricane victims. She used her charity and public office to funnel money to herself. If She stole money from a liquor store, say $25,000, how long would she be in jail? I think political crimes should have mandatory minimum sentences that are longer than other crimes.
Alas, who makes the rules for sentencing? The political criminals.....
