Rice wine is a popular drink to indigenous people in the Chittagong Hill Tracts. It is needed in social functions and in different ritual activities too. They have their own traditional system of brewing rice wine. Some of these wine are really very strong and flammable as spirit. It is also used as medicine in conjugation with ginger to heal gastritis.
