The power of the imagination (imagine you are in another place)...
This is a great gift to human being that we can imagine, We can use the power of imagination to put our self in another world, in another lifestyle.
1: Get comfortable and be prepared to be in deep concentration. This will most likely not work if you have distractions around you. Unless it's nice and calm music it's not going to help.
2: Decide where you want to plant your mind. Do you want to be on a beach at your dream destination? Do you want to be at a theme park with your friends? Whatever the case, think about this deeply. Even write it down, precisely. It will help when thinking about it.
3: Close your eyes and just begin to picture the place in your mind.
4: You may just think you are seeing black, but if you concentrate hard enough, you can just picture it. Like I said, I can't say if this will work or not. But even if It doesn't, it will help your concentration skills and the ability to concentrate on something. Also, I'd like to add that thinking in detail helps. Every little detail of the place.
Just Imagine you are in this place...
5: If it doesn't work the first time, keep trying. You never know, you might even dream about your dream place.
Or you can take or imagine about any different life-style
For example take two different lifestyles:
- imagine that you are a great singer or artist and that you have arrived at a great pinnacle of success; you are widely known,
people recognise you on the street and your face appears everywhere. You want for nothing, you have a life of luxury. It is what you have always wanted. - You had worked in the business world but became disillusioned and gave it up to work with an NGO working abroad in an underdeveloped country.
It is hard work and the hours are long, the working conditions are poor, and yet you feel in the right place. You have a sense that there is something guiding your life that has brought you to this place.
Take each situation in turn and use your imagination to enter into that lifestyle. Imagine what it would feel like: the sights, sounds, smells and feelings. Then look back and see how it leaves you afterwards, sometimes one scenario can be thrilling and exciting but may not last; another can be more difficult to enter into but can leave a lasting sense of satisfaction. What are you left with, which are you drawn to?
