In this video, I learnt from Bro Eli Soriano that if I want to obey God I must obey His commandments. If want to please God, I must follow His doctrines. If I want God to be happy with me I must delight in doing His will.
The commandments of God are in His words. His words are His purpose for us. I must study His words daily. I must make it my delight day and night. The proof of my love for God is accepting His teachings. The doctrines of God, as Bro Eli Soriano always tells us, are the rules governing the conduct of every member of the house of God which is the church.
Ecclesiastes 12:13 (KJV) Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
Summing up every of our actions and passions, the conclusion of the whole matter is to fear God and to do His commandments. The entirety of our responsibility as the creatures of God is to fear God. I have understood through this scriptures that fearing God and doing His commandments are what it takes to be obedient to Him.
Matthew 7:21 (KJV) Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Going about and professing that I'm a christian won't please God if I am not obedient to His commandments. The thing that will make me win the acceptance of God is to obey his commandments.
Matthew 28:20 (KJV) Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
Psalms 40:8 (KJV) I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart.
My conclusion is this: I will delight in doing the will of God everyday. I follow the teachings of Jesus Christ as written in the Bible. In this way God shall be pleased with me.
