There is a phrase that has accompanied us from a very young age, and it is the famous:
"Do what you are passionate about"
And the truth, it is a phrase that I like a lot because I feel that it simplifies in a better way what it is for me to "live in peace", which is basically doing what you really love and you are passionate about, either as a hobby or as a job with which you earn income.
And the truth is that it is a phrase that I love because I really believe that the best way to live is doing what you like. Since it is impossible to feel fulfilled or complete doing a job that does not generate any kind of satisfaction or happiness for you, and you only continue to do it due to social pressure, a supposed economic stability and conformity.
So I have always thought about how important it is to find that "Something" that you are passionate about, for live a future with tranquility. And it was something I always insisted on with my friends, since it seemed important that they also found that "Something" in their lives, just the way I had done with art.
And my insistence on the topic only got worse, until one afternoon, talking about it, a great friend of mine told me her opinion about the topic, commenting on the following:
What happens, Criss, is that not everyone has found his true passion, like you, and just keep looking
And it was a very important phrase for me, which made me understand more than a couple of things. Because the truth is that you do not need to seek true passion until death in order to have a good life, what you really need to do is live.
And this is a problem that really affects many people. Those who after reaching adulthood have not found their "True Passion", and do not feel fulfilled or happy, fall into the Existential Void syndrome. An emotional place that can bring depression and anxiety. And this is something that saddens me a lot, since despite considering it important to find the "True Passion", it seems very unfair for me that many people can fall into depression, or other deep feelings, for a wrong social doctrine that tries to teach what to do To be able to feel fulfilled and have a happy life, when the only thing than you have to do is live.
I believe that not having a unique and true passion allows us to experience and know different branches of art and life itself, giving us the opportunity to have thousands of incredible experiences and memories. Because finding the "True Passion" is not synonymous with having the best life, since even those who achieve it can fall into depression and anxiety. Since even on top, the mind keeps asking questions:
And now that?
Letting the vacuum take hold.
And, after all, happiness is often found in small things, something that can only be understood by living.
