2Ti 3:12 Likewise, all who want to lead a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.
Today it is common to speak of tolerance, to respect the opinions and life choices of each one, but to my great surprise I find that this is not so true in some particular circumstances, especially with Christianity.
For thousands of years the Christian church has been persecuted, imprisoned, exterminated, and little tolerated by the societies to which its message reaches.
Although the message of Christianity is called good news, many people do not take this good news for good, especially when they are in contradiction to their own convictions, then what had been disguised as tolerance comes to light as what it is, a total intolerance .
With all the excitement that has arisen in our country for the defense by the entire Christian church regardless of the name of the family, came to light comments, ridicule and criticism of the Christian church.
That false image that the means of tolerance sell us ends when the opinion seems contrary, no believer is against a particular person, but if he wants to express what he thinks and make it clear even if it costs him his life.
We are not afraid to preach the truth, to speak of the truth and to condemn sin, calling it what it is, even though this bothers many people.
In the scriptures we find the testimony of John Baptist who was first imprisoned and then beheaded for denouncing Herod's sin by having a relationship with his brother's wife. Many Christians have had a hard time preaching the truth and talking about what God does not tolerate, sin.
When we call sin what the Bible calls sin, then the voice of tolerance disappears and arbitrariness, selfishness and pride painted in different colors appear to intimidate, humiliate and dishonor the church of Christ.
But this should not matter to us, we already knew that, Jesus himself taught us: the time will come when the world will persecute them for following my name (2 Tim 3:12).
The world disguises itself as false tolerance when in reality it does not tolerate being told the truth, I can understand them because I myself was part of those who had that false tolerance towards Christianity, but when it got into my sin or with issues in Those who thought differently, it was clear that intolerance reigned.
We understand that nobody likes to be told the truth, but for that we were called as the church of Christ to preach the truth and bring light to a world that lives in darkness.
We have to tell the truth, even though it makes us uncomfortable, even if it makes us lose friends, although not everyone can tolerate us.
Even within Christianity itself there are believers to whom we can say some things because they tend to turn against us if we preach as such the scriptures.
Let us pray, Lord, give us the courage to show your light in the midst of darkness, when there is confusion we will bring your truth, and so that in the midst of the false tolerance of this world we will find the courage to preach your message and denounce the sin of this world.
