It is always good to help others, says the word that is better to give than to receive; Sometimes we do not do it because we may not have enough resources to help other people. Unfortunately most of the things we focus on money and wrongly think that if we do not have it, we can not do anything, much less solve our problems, but there are problems that even with all the gold in the world can not be solved.
We can help others in many ways, starting from a simple prayer, a visit, a word of encouragement, but not only can we stay there, we have to act.
The word of God says: ¨ My brothers, what is the use of alleging that you have faith, if you do not have works? Perhaps you can save that faith? Suppose a brother or sister has nothing to wear and lacks daily food, and one of you says to them: "Do them well; keep warm and eat until you are satisfied, "but it does not give you what is necessary for the body. What good will that do? So also faith alone, if it has no works, is dead. "James 2: 14-17 (New International Version).
Saying "God bless you" is not enough, because in many cases, it does not help solve your neighbor's problem, maybe at this moment you think, How can I help someone, if I'm worse than that person? Little or much we will always have to offer to others, be it a bread to a beggar, food, clothing, not everything has to be money.
Let's not be selfish, thinking only of ourselves, waiting to always receive, to be given, to help us, without doing anything for others.
¨Mas Pedro said: I have neither silver nor gold, but what I have I give you; in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, get up and walk. And taking him by the right hand he raised him up; and at the moment his feet and ankles were affirmed.
Acts 3: 6-7 (Reina-Valera 1960).
Imagine that scene, the lame man lying at the door of the temple, waiting for the charity of other people, for half a live. Then Pedro arrives with Juan and the first thing they find is this man who was waiting, because he expected to receive alms, but beyond a simple alms, they identified that his problem was not only the daily sustenance and that he needed help but for his life, in which money had nothing to do, that help was the healing of his feet.
In this world we will always go through the two roles, that of the needy but also that of helpers; as children of a great God we have something more important than money and that is their presence, the power and authority that has been given to us to break chains, to heal, to liberate, there are those who need help not so much material but spiritual and that should be our specialty.
Not having a prestigious economic situation, does not exonerate you from helping others, because to give your hand to the fallen person you do not need money, it is enough to have the Holy Spirit.
