Маяк, поблизу ялтинського порту був побудований з 1889 по 1892 рік. До цього в Ялті діяв тимчасовий маяк, що світиться червоним світлом, який діє з 1874 року. The lighthouse near the port of Yalta was built from 1889 to 1892. Prior to that, there was a temporary lighthouse in Yalta, lit by a red light, which has been operating since 1874. The construction was directly supervised by engineer Alexander Bertie-Delagard, who also participated in the construction of seaports in Feodosia and Sevastopol.

Після Другої світової війни було проведено реконструкцію маяка, новий залізобетонний будинок одержав шпиль, і висота споруди склала 17 метрів.
After the Second World War, the lighthouse was reconstructed, the new reinforced concrete house received a spire, and the height of the building was 17 meters.
На початку 1980-х років світло маяка замінили із звичного червоного на зелений, проте після обурення мореплавців було повернуто звичне історичне світло.
In the early 1980s, the lighthouse's light was replaced from the usual red to green, but after the indignation of the sailors, the usual historical light was returned.
