Wedneday walk through Independence Ghost town colorado

Hellooo all of you awesome Wednesday Walkers out there #walking around #capturing the #memories through your #eyes and #camera lens, like the extremely #talented #photographer @tattoodjay does every day and who also happens to be the #creator of this great #community along with #makemesmile champion, @elizacheng A huge round of applause with lots of #gratitude to them both!!!!

A good #Wednesday to you all and today I would like to take you on another walk down memory lane with me and this one is up to #IndependencePass https://www.dangerousroads.org/north-america/usa/91-independence-pass-usa.html right on top of the great #ContinentalDivide https://continentaldividetrail.org/cdnst-interactive-map/ running through #Colorado https://www.colorado.com/ in the incredible USA.

So who likes #Ghost tours???? Me Me MEEEEEE.......... but this wasn't as much of a ghost tour, as a #tour of a ghost town...so on this #Wild and #wacky Wednesday walk a few years ago (he he he...), I would like to take you on a walk through a historic gold town, known now as Independence Ghost town - though I'm not too sure how many ghosts were there...........

Now could you imagine being one of the first settlers here???
Surrounded by steep snow covered mountains on either side, threatening to throw an avalanche at you any time of the day or night? 😱😱😱😱😱😬🤐💩

And living in cabins like these- well these are actually them, with lots of holes between the logs AND no electric blankets! 😱😱😱😱😱😬🤐💩

But then on the positive side, you've got these majestic views to gaze over while you're hanging out the washing and you're man is getting dirty (or robbed...) down in the goldfield...or blind drunk down at the local saloon and then robbed on the way home, maybe even shot...

....and then he gets' home, doesn't like the stew that you slaved over all day, throws the plate on the floor and you with it, then you have to clean up all over again...and blood splatter from a gun is not that quick and easy to clean up before the ol' sherrif comes over to find out what the noise was....

Oh the good ol days eh...gold digging, gunslinging, shooting, rooting, fighting, hunting posses, hunting for food and just generally trying to stay alive while everything is out to get you....the weather, nature, animals, skurvy, disease and even your own husband most times.......Anyhoooooo.......😬

But I've got to say, that I think that this is one of my favourite #landscape #photos ever.....but then hello, it is one of the most majestically stunning places ever- #Colorado...

Anyway, I hope that you enjoyed this wild and whacky tour of a ghost town gone but not forgotten (especially not since you could still hear the moaning from all the husbands long buried....😆)

And please don't forget that this walk through time has also been an adventure through the present as not only have I been remembering all of the stories and sensational scenes here as I scan the photos captured on 35mm film, but it has also been an adventure- a big learning curve through photoshop as I learn new techniques and skills to polish up these photos from the faded paper printed glory too, so I hope that you enjoyed this walk with me and would love to hear your comments, suggestions and any advice.
