No matter how hard we try, having total control over our lives and the situations or events that happen in them is impossible. Our lives are not always out of control obviously, but often things happen that we're unable to exert any control over and all we can do is deal with them the best we can and try to shape the future after such events occur.

A recent example might be the economic turmoil created by America's tariff announcement, a situation that none of us has any control over. We have the power to control how we respond in the present moment and for the future though. Self control is well within the ability of each of us as is the ability to choose how we react to external forces and control our actions.

We can't control every situation but can control our perception and perspective of them, how we think and feel, and that gives us the power to make better choices and have better attitudes.

We're all going to be disappointed and disillusioned at some stage in our lives, probably multiple times, but being disappointed or disillusioned is a choice we make ourselves. There's better options like being determined though and it's through choosing the right things, controlling how we think and act, that we can help to craft our lives a little closer to the way we would like them to be.
