Good Morning to all the hivers,
This fun and quite beautiful to watch folk dance came from the Philippines. It's inspired by / copies the movement of This animal..
*Picture found on https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buff-banded_rail
..the Tikling bird, also known as the buff-banded rail.
I grew up on the Hawaiian island of Kauai, and my first exposure to tinikling came when we played the actual tinikling song in band.
Here's the traditional dance and music..
*This video was found on https://www.tagaloglang.com/tinikling-bamboo-dance/ and the actual video was hosted on youtube
The tune is very nice and quite catchy, but Folk dancing to me, while beautiful, is LESS than exciting..
It's been updated with some modern flare. Here's one example..
*Thanks to youtube again, for hosting this.
But this is my favorite that I saw just a couple days ago and I had to share it with hive..
*youtube, thanks again.
How's that 4-way part, yeah?
