Yes, I agree 100% with you. FB and so many sites are at best amusing, but only take from you..

I have a 16 y/o daughter and she uses Instagram, not FB. To her the ultimate use of her time is to play her online game. I guess I am just too old now and can't stand spending that much time on something that seems (to me) to be unproductive, but I guess she just values her enjoyment overall all else..?
