I've been having difficulty figuring why my dance videos haven't really been having so many views and reaching more people on the gram and it really got me thinking about what I've been doing wrong.
Then suddenly I discovered that there were a lot of things I wasn't doing correctly. I went on youtube to make some research and discovered I wasn't doing some things right.
Engagement: I discovered that instagram is a very interactive place and a good place to sell yourself. It isn't just about having so many followers, but being able to connect with your followers by engaging them and also replying comments. Same goes for upcoming accts, there has to be a lot of engaging by liking posts, writing quality comments, reposting and so on. The more you reach out to others the more you get to reach more people. I noticed I hadn't been doing too much of that because of data and I've been too busy doing other things.
Quality Posts: The gram is a very peculiar place for quality and obviously everyone likes to see quality stuffs. If you're making videos and they're really quality contents, they tend to reach a higher range of people. For me not owning an iphone really has really hindered me from making good quality videos and as such I've been going at a crippling pace when it comes to showing my dance to the world.
Promotion: This is one of the most effective way of reaching to more audience. Mark was certainly smart when he added this feature because it is known obviously that money is needed to make more money. So the more money you invest into what you love doing, the more yield it would present. Promotions has always been a no go area for me especially because I'm not earning enough for a student to be able to spend on promotions and it has been really heartbreaking for me.
Taking a look into all this steps, if you look closely you'll see that they also apply to growing on the hive. The hive is nothing without engagement, the more you engage on other authors posts by making good quality comments, you get to earn a lot of tokens. Being able to connect with other people is a major factor needed to thrive in the hive.
Making quality posts too on the Hive is a really big plus. Most authors tend to really on quantity instead of quality thinking that either way they'll earn. That's a shallow thinking, we're a community known for thriving by using our brain and surely any post that really reflects that tends to get more upvotes.
The promotion aspect can also take the form of staking. Noticeable, most Hivers run away from staking because they're in a hurry to get money out of the hive forgetting that if you don't patiently invest in yourself, you'll never be good at anything. I see staking as an important way to thrive on the hive and even though I'm not able to stake yet because of some issues i need to handle, I'm really looking forward to it.
