This is a song I recorded two years ago, the title song of my debut EP. It's wonderful to see how far I've come. I'm pretty happy with the guitar sound I've got - even this far into my producing career. For a solo acoustic song, they lack a bit of low end, but they're nice, crisp, and don't have any harsh tonalities. The vocals are low and lack a bit of presence and warmth, but this was recorded on an incredibly low budget and the microphones I used were pretty cheap.

Years later I'm a bit embarrassed by the quote at the end - it detracts a bit from the meaning of the song - but the quote fit with the EP's aesthetic so I wouldn't retroactively change it.

The song was originally supposed to be about me reflecting on my eccentricities as a person and having trouble connecting with people. On the other hand, a very valid interpretation of this song (which is the one I actually like to use nowadays) is that it's a surprisingly genuine love song. This interpretation surprised me, because I'd been playing this song for about a year before someone pointed it out!

You don't have to give the full song a listen, but it might interest you to see where a music producer started off. Please let me know what you think!
