She is the protector of the dark,
From her womb darkness was reborn a fine man.
Every night she taught him how to live like the dead,
His rage, she curbed for he was her cub,
Her only companion, her Son that brightens her sorrowful nights.
She used to be the most beautiful,
She bore a soothing voice that poured lullabies,
gods slept at her temple.
My grandfather's mother told me her tales,
Tales of her boundless love with Castor,
The love between them was nothing like the heavens has seen.
Castor was a charming warrior,
a demi-god, protector of the realm of the dead.
Castor was banished from heaven,
Cursed also, to be a wolf for eternity,
Because he proposed to the moon.
He was not aware of her curse, her past.
On the day of the black moon,
She witnessed the coup plotted by possessed angels and told not her creator.
She was then cursed to eat the remains of the skies,
Loneliness was her biggest sentence,
Of which she is still serving her term.
Her long lost love, The wolf, Castor,
still howl Love songs to her,
At Night was when he could see clearly,
He saw the beauty of the moon glooming in distress,
And the pain made him howl in pain,
Hoping someday their distress souls would find abode in each other's arms.
Her past held her captive for eternity,
Verily, her captivity begets our night,
The day her curse is lifted,
Is the day we shall learn to create our own Nights.
