Today I went to my friends garden to plug cent leaf. It's one of the most popular leaf in the world due to its health benefits. Last year, I had it in my garden but when I changed my location, I was not able to plant it again. Not that I don't want to plant it but, in my resent location, no space for small garden. So each time I need a cent leaf or other leaf's, I do go to my friend's house for it. Weeds have grown in garden and we are yet to fix a date for the weeding.
The cent leaf was so fresh and have not been affected by the winter. Because it's been watered often. Seriously, I do add cent leaf in all my food unless is not available. That's why am making plans to have a small garden next year.
Gnetum or Ukazi leaf is also available in the garden. Normally used to prepare our native soups known as Afang or Melon soup.
Personally I do I do call this leaf all weather because it survives both the winter and raining season without the owner bothering to spray water on it. Though the leafs are a little bit strong but well consumed often here in my country. So, if you have plenty of it in your garden, you are on money. Another thing is that, it is easy to cultivate. Just as you can see in the picture, it has ripped red seeds. All you need to do is to spary the seeds on the ground and it germinates on its own. As it keeps on growing everyday, you use bambo tree to direct it. It doesn't die easily rather stays for ages.
The fresh pepper hashing new fruits.
This pepper really looks fresh. The berries are coming out in hundreds. I pray the berries survive this harmattan breeze though not started yet.
Cocoyam is one of the Africans local foods. It's mixed together with Garry or fufu as food while some do eat it with Palm oil. It has different species. The one in this picture can be mixed with the things I mentioned earlier. While their are other species for cooking of soup. And their is a particular one that can also roast and enjoy with vegetable sauce.
Hello @riverflows, do you know about Utazi leaf and cocoyam?? What do you have to say about them?
