Reseña del torneo semanal de Chess Brothers: Una revancha brillante

Cuatro han sido los torneos disputados en la Liga Chess Brothers hasta el momento. Hemos alcanzado el ecuador de este campeonato y varias han sido las sorpresas que los hivers han podido ofrecer sobre el tablero.

Este domingo como de costumbre tuvimos el torneo semanal y @eniolw se proclamó campeón en esta oportunidad. Notamos que @tungphong lamentablemente "ha desaparecido" de los tableros online y esta situación lo condena al descenso en la tabla de posiciones por lo que retener el título en esta temporada va a ser prácticamente una misión imposible. Esperemos que donde quiera que se encuentre esté bien y pueda incorporarse de nuevo.

Por su parte, @tony1294, @@@pereu4ivatel, @samostically y @lucianosky se mantienen bastante sólidos y se mantienen en la lucha por los primeros puestos.

@Stayoutoftherz tuvo una actuación bastante interesante al ubicarse en el 8vo puesto, consiguiendo 2261 puntos de performance tras vencer a los jugadores del top 2 y top 3.

Muy destacable fue también el ingreso de @schamangerbert al grupo de los 10 mejores ajedrecistas del torneo, al haber completado una actuación brillante. Esto demuestra el progreso que ha tenido tras haberse enfrentado con jugadores superior en rating en los torneos de HIVE chess community. Veamos algunos momentos interesantes del torneo

El ajedrez es sumamenete competitivo y para muestra un botón. Tenemos el enfrentamiento entre estos dos grandes ajedrecistas quienes ya han alcanzado un historial de partidas bastante disputado. La semana pasada hablamos de la magistral defensa que tuvo @lucianosky y que terminó llevandose la victoria. Pues bien, @samostically aprovechó esta nueva oportunidad para devolverle el golpe y descontar el marcador personal.

La partida se desarrolló en las turbulentas aguas de una apertura italiana, típica arma empleada por Luciano. El juego se tornó bastante dinámico, pues los jugadores llevaron sus reyes a sectores opuestos del tablero, por lo que la lucha en los flancos sería la clave en este encuentro. Como sabrán los más experiementados en ajedrez, el primero en llegar al enroque enemigo tendrá la ventaja asegurada.

Parecía que las blancas estaban llegando con bastante rapidez a las filas enemigas. Pero, @samostically fiel a la temática del torneo sacrifica un peón en las puertas del enroque blanco con la intención de hacerse paso, operación la cual resultó exitosa, pues las piezas blancas tuvieron inconvenientes de mantener la partida relativamente estable.

En esta posición las cosas lucen "estables". Parece que las blancas han pasado lo peor, pero las negras insisten y entregan el peon de c para abrir esta columna y continuar con el ataque. Las blancas erróneamente capturan el peón de f7, lo cual no tiene que ver con lo que pide la posición y es precisamente en este momento cuando las negras logran abrir la columna c y la partida se va de las manos para el bando blanco.

Otra partida que encendió las casillas fue la de @pereu4ivatel vs @tony1294, ¡una total locura!

@pereu4ivatel es un jugador que se caracteriza por usar aperturas un tanto irregulares y pues parece que esta estrategia le ha sentado bien. Ha podido sorprender a más de un fuerte jugador con sus preparaciones caseras. En esta oportunidad tony se vio afectado por el juego tan dinámico que las blancas desplegaron. La táctica fluyó a diestras y siniestras en este match con varios sacrificios interesantes que obligaron a las negras a inclinar a su rey.

Las negras se vieron bastante desequilibradas en la apertura. De hecho, el juego pudo haber terminado mucho antes, pero las blancas no encontraron las líneas que sentenciaban. No obstante, su ventaja material era lo suficientemente amplia como para no perder el control tan fácilmente. Las piezas negras intentaron contragolpear en el flanco dama donde se encontraba el monarca blanco y, de hecho, lograron una coordinación interesante, pues parece que el primer jugador subestimó un poco la avalancha de peones, sin mencionar que la pareja de alfiles cortaban el tablero tajantemente.

En este momento, las negras "sacrifican" su caballo con la intención de hacer daño sobre el rey enemigo, entrega que las blancas reúsan con buen criterio, pues de lo contrario sería jaque mate en pocas jugadas. Parecía que tony se estaba recuperando, pues la presión que estaba ejerciendo casi completaba la deseada remontada. Sin embargo, en el apuro de tiempo un par de cambios desafortunados lo dejaron en un final totalmente perdido con calidad y dos peones de menos.

Chess Brothers Weekly Tournament Review: a Brilliant Revenge

Four tournaments have been played in the Chess Brothers League so far. We have reached the halfway point of this championship and there have been several surprises that the hivers have been able to offer on the board.

This Sunday as usual we had the weekly tournament and @eniolw was proclaimed champion this time. We note that @tungphong has unfortunately "disappeared" from the online boards and this situation condemns him to relegation in the standings so retaining the title this season will be practically an impossible mission. Let's hope that wherever he is he is well and can join again.

For their part, @tony1294, @@@pereu4ivatel, @samostically and @lucianosky remain pretty solid and stay in the fight for the top spots.

@Stayoutoftherz had a quite interesting performance by placing 8th, getting 2261 performance points after beating top 2 and top 3 players.

Very remarkable was also the entry of @schamangerbert to the top 10 chess players of the tournament, having completed a brilliant performance. This shows the progress he has made after facing top rated players in the HIVE chess community tournaments. Let's look at some interesting moments from the tournament

Chess is extremely competitive and the proof is in the pudding. We have the confrontation between these two great chess players who have already reached a history of quite disputed games. Last week we talked about the masterful defense that @lucianosky had and ended up taking the victory. Well, @samostically took advantage of this new opportunity to return the blow and discount the personal score.

The game took place in the turbulent waters of an Italian opening, a typical weapon used by Luciano. The game became quite dynamic, as the players took their kings to opposite sides of the board, so the fight on the flanks would be the key in this encounter. As the most experienced chess players will know, the first to reach the enemy castling will have the advantage.

It seemed that White was reaching the enemy ranks quite quickly. But, @samostically faithful to the theme of the tournament sacrificed a pawn at the gates of the white castling with the intention of making way, an operation which proved successful, as the white pieces had trouble keeping the game relatively stable.

In this position things look "stable". It seems that White has passed the worst, but Black insists and gives up the c-pawn to open this file and continue the attack. White mistakenly captures the f7-pawn, which has nothing to do with what the position calls for, and it is precisely at this moment that Black manages to open the c-file and the game goes out of hand for White.

Another game that lit up the squares was @pereu4ivatel vs @tony1294, total madness!

@pereu4ivatel is a player who is characterized by using somewhat irregular openings and it seems that this strategy has suited him well. He has been able to surprise more than one strong player with his homemade preparations. On this occasion Tony was affected by the very dynamic game that White played. The tactics flowed left and right in this match with several interesting sacrifices that forced Black to tilt his king.

Black was quite unbalanced in the opening. In fact, the game could have ended much earlier, but White failed to find the lines that would have sentenced him. Nevertheless, their material advantage was wide enough not to lose control so easily. The black pieces tried to counterattack on the queenside where the white monarch was located and, in fact, achieved an interesting coordination, as it seems that the first player underestimated a bit the avalanche of pawns, not to mention that the bishop pair cut the board sharply.

At this point, Black "sacrificed" his knight with the intention of doing damage to the enemy king, a move that White judiciously refused, otherwise it would be checkmate in a few moves. It seemed that Tony was recovering, since the pressure he was exerting almost completed the desired comeback. However, in the rush of time a couple of unfortunate exchanges left him in a totally lost ending with quality and two pawns down.
