Ottawa's vegetable growing season begins in May. But seedlings start in March.
I bought a big bag of potting mix in early March from Costco. I put the soil into the empty egg boxes, then put the pepper seeds in, and covered the seeds with a thin layer of soil.To keep the soil moist, I sprayed water with a watering can every day.
A month later, peppers began to come out one by one. When the pepper seedlings were about 5 cm long, I transplanted them into a plastic box that could hold deeper soil and put them in the house .Several days later, I moved them outside to get some sunlight in the morning and took them back to the house in the afternoon. So they could grow stronger.
In addition to peppers, I have also raised seedlings such as tomatoes, zucchini, cucumbers, bitter gourd and winter gourd. It takes a lot of time to spray water to these seedlings every day, but I love doing it.
Watching these seedlings grow day by day, my heart is full of joy.
