it is said, that "A picture is worth a thousand words", and that is true. A picture also refreshes a lot of memories.
It is another wonderful picture of #pic1000, that shows a coin with writing and a coin that depicts a beautiful portrayal of a goddess sitting on the tiger carved on it. Words and thoughts never stop running around my head and I felt the rewards of hard work.
A coin is more than just a tool for trade. Coins have been used as symbols of power for rulers in ancient times.
"Hard work breeds success," they say, And this word describes the picture and writings on the coin.
The diagram on the coin is a picture of GODDESS DURGA.
Durga is the goddess of the city of Kashi in India. She is described as;
She who is the strength of shiva
She is the grantor of knowledge.
Durga's themes are power over evil and negativity, knowledge, and sustenance. Her symbols are; fire, yellow-colored items, tigers and lions, a rice bowl, and a spoon.
She is one of the eldest and fiercest of Devi's forms. She incarnated the United power of all divine beings, who offered her the required physical attributes and weapons to kill the demon mahishasura.
DURGA APPEARS IN MANY FORMS.
馃敼Durga's many arms
Durga's many arms are depicted as having eight or ten hands. These represent eight quadrants or ten directions in Hinduism. This suggests that she protects the devotees from all directions.
馃敼Durga's three eyes
She is referred to as 'Tryambake' meaning the three-eyed goddesses.
The left eye represents desire (moon), the right eye represents action (sun), and the central eye is knowledge (fire).
馃敼Durga's vehicle -The tiger represents power, will, and determination.
DURGA'S MANY WEAPONS
馃敻 The conch shell in Durga's hand symbolizes the 'PRANAVA' or the mystic word 'OM' which indicates her holding onto God in the form of sound.
馃敻The bows and arrows represent energy.
馃敻 The thunderbolt signifies firmness.
馃敻 The lotus in Durga's hand is not in fully bloomed, it symbolizes certainty of success.
馃敻 The SUDARSHAN - CHAKRA or beautiful discus which spins around the index finger of the goddess signifies that the entire world is subservient to the will of Durga and is at command.
馃敻The sword that Durga holds in one of her hands symbolizes knowledge.
The coin is a symbolic piece to remind one of her presence always.
The coin also describes the writing which translates as "A likeness of Jahangir shan, son of Akbra Shan in the year six of his reign.
The coin is a rupee (An Indian currency), Jahangirv was the coin ruler of the Mughal empire in India.
