Hey Jesstranauts

Ever since I happened to stumble down the rabbit hole that is the cryptocurrency space, I've been absolutely besotted by it. The volatile nature, the breaking old ways of thinking, the application in new tools, the psychology behind it all and the movement it has generated are all reasons to want to stick around.

However, above all, the monetary value in dollars seems to be the overwhelming reasons still getting dicks hards and vaginas wet. The vast majority of people are looking for wealth without work, to be able to toss crypto a few bucks and receiving a life-changing amount in return, yes the moon.

When Lambo, when moon right?

How can I make such a broad claim? Because I was there too, the money-hungry little shit during the 2017 bull market calculating my potential profits and how I was going to have fuck off money. It was an unrealised dream because I didn't pull out in time, but in hindsight, it has been the best move for me.

Many of my friends at the time passed on the craze and have gone on to other things, while I stuck around, to scrape out a few extra cents over the last few years.

A time to reflect

I've had 3/4 years to think about what crypto means to me, what I want to achieve and how I want to spend my profits, if ever. I've gone through several phases, and I am sure I will go through more phases of thinking, but for now, I don't care about the price. I don't care about the selling to get fiat; I don't care about taking profits, I don't care about trading.

All I care about is having something I can call my own, where I can stuff the fruits of my labour, that I know won't be debased.

I realise Bitcoin and crypto means different things to different people, but this is what it means to me.

I don't care about the moon, if BTC stayed at 10 -16k for the rest of its lifespan, I'd be fine with that, and I would keep buying.

So what if Bitcoin goes to 20k,100k, 200k like the stock to flow model predicts? What would that mean for you? A home? Financial freedom? A chance to pursue a passion project? That's all great, and I wish loads of people get to chase their dreams because of their returns, but that's not for me.

Time value of money

I've spoken about the time value of money and capturing years through Bitcoin and by all means, that's something I do want, to know the money I saved up will be there when and If I ever need it but never to have to fall back on it. While I still have earning capacity and potential ill be grabbing up as much fiat I can for my labour and converting it into Bitcoin.

If Bitcoin moons like any of my other investments, I would aim to preserve some of it before it regresses/corrects that I will admit. However, I don't see it as an end game for me. I'll still want to work and contribute to society.

Perhaps the extra capital will come in handy.

I've always treated all my investments as money I don't actually have, I am happy to lose it all if I don't that's a bonus.

Don't get me wrong, the moon is great, but I am enjoying the journey more.
