As social unrest develops in the US, there are so many narratives at play, and the media is having a field day trying to misdirect the people from the obvious. We see a significant focus on the looting and how horrible it is, and to that, I fully agree, looting is awful, its the cost of the war. Humans have been doing it for thousands of years; if you have something they want and they can strong-arm you, they will loot you.
I'm not here to condone looting; I don't think it has any cost-benefit, in fact it hurts more than just the shop owners. Many of us feel for the small business owner, but when a shop gets looted the staff that work at the store lose their jobs. The consumers who buy at that store lose access to produce, the velocity of money goes down as there is less to spend on weakening that small economy.
The prices of products go up to cover for insurance, transport, security and cost of getting back to normal. There will also be an unnatural scarcity which will drive up inflation.
If you are looting in this sense you're probably from that community so you're only pushing yourself in a sort of kamikaze-style Darwinism.
The market always has this karma like structure to it, which is how markets should work. Communities that feel that pain from looting will eventually have less incentive to loot and curb those who try so that they can protect their way of life.
Communities aren't fixed by a bunch of middle-class people projecting their outreach; it's fixed by allowing those living it in it to take ownership and personal responsibility for their neighbourhoods. If you listen to communities and show them how to protect their interests and support them, you'll be surprised at how quickly they can straighten out the bad apples.

As you can tell from my description of the situation above the natural flow of money, goods and services and the scarcity of all allow people to regulate their behaviours and find what the best for their community is. In the case of the financial sector, money printing will enable them to continue to move higher and higher percentages of purchasing power from the general public balance sheet to their balance sheet.
What is worse is that with all this QE they not even stealing from your current balance sheet but future generations balance sheets as the tax and cost implications of this economic vandalism cannot also be accounted for and are far worse than pillaging all the stores the world over, its a protection racket and a financial mafia syndicate.
Financial crime gets a free pass because its done behind the scenes through products like derivates and through financial service providers that have "regulation" and are legally deemed morally superior when they are not.
The real looting has been going on for years, and we continue to support it by remaining silent, by subscribing to fiat, by paying taxes, by supporting these banks and pulling out our money. We support a system of looting by opting to purchase from Amazon or use Google.
They only loot because WE allow them to loot!

It's easier to look down on others than it is to look up, I get that, we can feel morally superior judging those who are looting. It's all moral relativism when we are all complicit in allowing these financial institutions and governments to loot us for years and not say a damn thing.
To keep voting for more looting and to complain to politicians that they are not looting enough.
I will stand by anyone who condemns looting, in any shape or form but doesn't be selective on what kind of looting you look down upon, ALL looting is wrong! Let's start with the biggest looters and you know what will happen, we'll move to a world where those at the bottom would have no incentive to loot.
