Hey Jessinguists
If there's one thing about me, I enjoy good banter. Communication is a flawed construct and that's what makes it such an amazing medium, you can bend it to your will and its all about your perception and interpretation on how you derive value from your interactions with people.
I often litter the things I say with purposeful ambiguity, double entendres and levels of sarcasm many do not appreciate, sometimes I wonder why I even bother but it's so instilled in me, I simply cannot help it. Like an artist who performs with no crowd.
Being able to converse with people is a task we take for granted because we do it every day, we feel compelled to share our thoughts and feelings with one another as if everything that is blurted out of our brains to our mouths deserves recognition.
Which is why I feel like I spend so much time having to play through conversations that have no meaning, words that are so vapid and meaningless, the absorbing time I can never get back, what's worse is when it's repetitive.
Its sinking quickly
As the saying goes:
Empty vessels make the most noise and
and every day I'm reminded of it by some of the interactions I'm somewhat forced to have due to my local demographics, work, sports and basically anything I need to do where I'm coming into contact with people.
I mean I don't expect every interaction to be riveting one, most of it is pretty mundane, what I'm referring to is the forced interactions where people demand me to respond when it's clearly not needed. It's as if people don't understand they're asking a rhetorical question, a long-winded one but one none the less.
If it's not, its another repetitive story. Why do I have to remind you that you've told me this before?
I tend to value my time and I've always been about optimisation of it so anything that challenges that sort of annoys me!

Infinite knowledge makes for inept absorption
While this could have been excused in previous generations, I feel in this one, it's criminal and unforgivable. We live in a world with nearly unlimited access to information yet most people spend their time focusing on tweets, BuzzFeed listicles, outrage, internal arguments, gossip and all these lowest common denominator content I simply cannot get myself to partake in.
I realise how snobbish I sound but sometimes It gets too much. I think if more people took the time to pick up a book, research an interesting topic, kept their mouth shut and thought more and spoke less communication between each other would be less of a suppository for me.
I do try to surround myself with people who share my values but unfortunately, you cannot choose every one you come into contact with and I still haven't figured out how to quickly and painlessly without offending someone removes myself from their company or end the conversation so I can move on.
I also think that people are horrible at communication and probably take at least 25% more time to explain something due to a limited vocabulary, so many people talk around the point because they do not have the words to articulate what they're trying to say, it's wildly inefficient.
What do you think? Am I just being difficult? Do you find the same issues with your interactions? We often talk about quality content and comments of value on the chain but how can we push for that, it seems rather unrealistic when in real life most communication and contributions are far from quality
Have your say
Holla at me in the comments! All my commenters I will now refer to as Jessie. Jessie is a good friend of mine, but Jessies got a girl, and I want to make her mine.
So have at it my Jessies! If you don't have something to comment, simply comment "I am a Jessie."
